GENERAL INFORMATION
Barrick Gold (Kainantu - PNG) Container Scale Installation
In April 2008, FarmWeigh's Shane Driscoll travelled into the jungles of Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands for the commissioining of a FarmWeigh Shipping Container Scale. The containers carry loads of processed ore to Japan where the gold is extracted. It is important the containers are not overloaded as the Japanese will reject them.
Being Shane's first journey into PNG it was also an enlightening trip where he found the people employed at the mine to be friendly, gentle and efficient operators.
The Eastern Highlands is just magnificent country and the mining compound is amidst mountains and jungle.
FarmWeigh's Container Scale will provide an accurate means of loading the containers ensuring compliance with the customers' requests.

FarmWeigh & Aust-Mech provide automated container loading solution
FarmWeigh and Dalby based bulk handling specialists, Aust-Mech, have teamed together to provide an outstanding filling solution for AWH (Australian Wool Handlers) in their Lara plant. AWH are utilising their massive storage facility to provide a grain holding and container loading service.
AWH went to Aust-Mech to provide a system to fill the shipping container to set weights in order to meet the strict loading requirements. Aust-Mech's solution was to provide a hopper with a Farmweigh Check Weigher (now called the Mantis Plus) that feeds an Aust-Mech belt conveyor that in turn conveys the grain to a small loading hopper and horizontal auger that fills the container, while it is on the truck.
The FarmWeigh Mantis Plus provides the measurement to accurately stop the filling process when the required weight is reached. When the filling gets to within 500kgs of the required weight the control system shuts the pneumatic gate under the Mantis Plus hopper to half way, slowing the fill, and then closes completely when the set weight is reached.
After 1,000 tonnes the system was accurate to within 500kgs, which is a remarkable result for an impact weighing system. The Mantis Plus is available in different configurations to ensure a customised solution for the user.

IGH (WA) Get Container Weights Right
Independant Grain Handlers (IGH), located in Perth, have installed the new digital Farmweigh Container Scale to ensure containers are legally loaded when they're shipped.
The scale is easy to use and assemble and was delivered pre-calibrated so there was little installation required to be up and running.
The system comes with a ticket printer to provide a weight ticket for each container and can be expanded to become a pc based system that will provide reports and data to produce the required Container Weight Declaration.
IGH's system runs on 12volt and can be quickly re-located to provide flexibility and versatility with the scale. They have since provided a "flat-pack" making the scale even more versatile as it is now a massive 50 tonne capacity platform scale.
